There is a 6 percent growth in the global smartphone market. So what about other brands? Here is the situation of the smartphone market in the first quarter of 2024.
Samsung dethroned Apple!
Interest in smartphones is increasing day by day. Not only observations but also reports express this. CounterPoint, which announced its 2023-2024 smartphone market report today, announced that the smartphone market grew by 6 percent compared to last year.
Counterpoint, which also made statements on a brand basis, announced that Samsung was at the top with 20 percent in shipment share in the first quarter of 2024. Apple, which surpassed its rival in the last quarter of 2023 for the first time since 2023, fell behind its rival with a 17 percent shipment share in the first quarter of 2024. Apple was followed by Xiaomi with 14 percent, Oppo with 8 percent and Vivo with 7 percent.
Apple, which has not left the top with its average sales price for years, reduced the average sales price from 880 dollars in the first quarter of 2023 to 900 dollars in the first quarter of 2024. Considering that the global average sales price of the smartphone market is 370 dollars, it can be said that Apple’s gain is considerable. Even its arch-rival Samsung is almost three times behind Apple with an average sales price of $ 336 in the first quarter of 2024. In the same report, it is seen that Oppo is placed in the other parts of the list with $ 257, vivo with $ 211 and Xiaomi with $ 159.
As such, Apple still holds the top spot in the revenue share list. Apple, which had a 50 percent share in the first quarter of last year, still maintains its leadership even though it reduced this value to 41 percent in the first quarter of 2024. While Samsung ranks second with 18 percent, Xiaomi and Oppo have a revenue share of 6 percent and vivo has a revenue share of 4 percent.
